PEEC is a conference aimed at giving early-career scientists an opportunity to share their research and network with one another in a supportive environment. Last year, over 250 people from across Western Canada and the United States attended the conference virtually. We are excited to maintain or, better yet, grow this high level of participation in person in 2022!

PEEC welcomes participants from Western Canada and the United States to attend. The scope of presentations at PEEC is wide with topics ranging from marine, terrestrial, aquatic and aerial species and environments, all under the over-arching theme of ecology and evolution research.

The PEEC planning committee is excited to not only host an amazing line-up of informative talks this year, but PEEC will also include a keynote address from Dr. Amanda Bates, and chances to network/hang out with other participants.

We would like to acknowledge that PEEC is a student-led conference held in in Victoria, BC for 2022. We acknowledge and respect the lək̓ʷəŋən peoples on whose traditional territory this conference will be held and the Songhees, Esquimalt and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples whose historical relationships with the land continue to this day.
